Kemptville Pride 2.0 is less than six months away. The second annual parade is set for June 6 and organizers are hoping to make it a week-long celebration of the LGBTQ2+ community.
Communications Coordinator Fiona McKenney says over 2,000 people took part in Kemptville Pride last year and the goal is to double that in 2020. She noted organizers received a lot of positive feedback about the event.
The first fundraiser for Kemptville Pride is happening on February 2 at Geronimo Coffee House. The Love is Love Photo Booth runs from 9:00am to 2:00pm.
McKenney says people can bring someone they love – a spouse, child or pet – and get professional photos taken by a local freelance photographer for a minimum $5 donation.
She says ideas are in the works for this year’s event, including an opportunity for people to try out drag and yoga in the park.
Kemptville Pride is volunteer driven and funded entirely by community donations.
